64. Montague BLABER was born on 26 October 1882 in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England.^{519,520,521,522,523} He was christened on 29 November 1882 in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England. He lived at Riseholme in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England in 1891.²⁴² Montague lived at Clytha House, 15 Southdown Road in New Shoreham, Sussex, England in 1901.²³² In 1901 he was a Pupil Land Agent? (census entry is obscured - difficult to read accurately).²³² After 1901 he was a Chartered Surveyor and Auctioneer in Hailsham, East Sussex, England.^243,524 Montague had a thriving business as Auctioneer, Land Agent and Valuer until WW1. He returned to continue his business after the war, although the company appears to have continued throughout the war in his absence with regular advertisements for auctions held at Hailsham and several other locations of Fat and Store Stock (his specialty) and Cattle, Sheep etc., in the Sussex Agricultural Express.
Montague served in France and Belgium in the Army between 1914 and 1918.²⁴³ He served in the Royal Garrison Artillery. He was hospitalised on 26 January 1918 at 83 General Hospital, Boulogne, with a "fever of unknown origin (severe)". He died in February 1922 at the age of 39 in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, England.^243,525,526 Montague went missing in February 1922, although Probate Documents record that he was last seen alive on 10 January 1922. His body was found in a lake at Place House Estate, Peasmarsh on 6 March 1922. The inquest held on 7 March 1922 returned an Open Verdict. He had not been robbed as he still had £50 in his wallet and his half-hunter watch (still owned by Stephen J M Blaber). He had his estate probated on 4 April 1922 in London, England.⁵²⁶ Montague left the princely sum of £5194 16s. 4d. to his widow Augusta. Montague was buried on 22 April 1922 in Hailsham, East Sussex, England.²⁴³

Montague BLABER and Augusta Eleanor MAPLE were married in 1908 in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England.^527,528 They^527,528 lived at Dunmore in Hailsham, East Sussex, England in 1911.⁵²⁴ They⁵²⁴ lived at The Willows in Hailsham, East Sussex, England in 1922.⁵²⁶ Augusta Eleanor MAPLE, daughter of Samuel MAPLE and Louisa , was born about 1881 in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England.^529,530,531 She lived at High Street in New Shoreham, Sussex, England in 1891.⁵²⁹ She lived at The Willows in Hailsham, East Sussex, England on 31 August 1922.⁵³² Augusta emigrated on 1 September 1922 to Natal, South Africa.^243,532 Augusta sailed from Southampton on the United Castle Line's 'Kenilworth Castle', with her four unnamed children, daughters aged 13 and 5, and sons aged 9 and 11. She died in 1960 at the age of 79 in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England.⁵³³
